LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 20, 2018) – Voting customers of Farm Credit Mid-America, a $22 billion financial services cooperative serving farmers, agribusinesses and rural residents in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, have elected two incumbents to the Association’s Board of Directors:
  • Lowell Hill of De Graff, Ohio. Lowell was re-elected to a four-year term. He and his son raise grain on more than 1,100 acres in central Ohio. He is a retired general superintendent with Thomas and Marker Construction.
  • Tony Wolfe of Hazleton, Indiana. Wolfe was re-elected to a four-year term. Wolfe is a lifelong farmer and grew his farm while working part time selling seed and farm equipment for many years. He was also a full-time land surveyor and employed by the Indiana Farm Bureau for 22 years.
The Association Board of Directors comprises 14 members – 12-stockholder elected and two appointed/outside. Farm Credit Mid-America directors are nominated for positions state-by-state within the Association’s four-state territory. Customers with voting stock are eligible to vote – customers purchase voting stock at the time of their loan origination.
The Association sent an information packet with detailed instructions, candidate information and ballots to eligible voting customers in September. Votes were cast online and by paper ballot.
“One of the many benefits of being a member of the Farm Credit Mid-America cooperative is electing directors and nominating committee members who work to make sure the Association remains strong so we can continue to work to secure the future of rural communities and agriculture,” said Bill Johnson, president and CEO of Farm Credit Mid-America. “We appreciate everyone who voted, making their voice heard.”
Customers also vote on the Nominating Committee by state. The Nominating Committee selects candidates for both the Board of Directors and Nominating Committee. Members of the 2019 Nominating Committee are:
